Green life created by waterways

This work photographs the West and South Seas of Korea with tidal differences
that are also listed as World Heritage Sites.
Twice a day, the sea enters and leaves, and in the time of its boundary,
humans and nature have long created a way of coexistence.
This work is a photograph of the seaweed that lives and breathes on the boundary,
such as green laver, Seaweed, and Seaweed Fulvescens.
Green laver, which covers rocks and small stones, is the green color of nature beyond human reach.
When the sea water is drained due to the difference between the tides, it receives sunlight, and when the water rises again, the blue wave that catches its breath
As the most basic producer of marine ecosystems, it serves as a home for small life.
The greenery piled on the stone shows that the sea is breathing on its own.
Seaweed, which gently covers the tidal flat in the West Sea, is another aspect of the tidal flat ecosystem.
Ecklonia cava, which grows between mud and sand, becomes food for microorganisms and benthic organisms,
It stabilizes the tidal flats and plays an important role in absorbing carbon.
The green seaweed spread on the mudflats that humans can't reach
It is the life force that supports the sea most quietly, although it is not visible.
Winter sea, low tide and high tide intersect in a short moment
Seaweed Fulvescens, which grows on bamboo feet,
is a landscape created by the harmony of human wisdom and the rhythm of nature.
The seaweed, woven like a thin thread, contains the clear nutrients of the cold winter sea,
They grow up leaving themselves to the flow of the sea, not artificial facilities.
This is a scene of a living that has been obtained by adapting to nature without going against it.
This work uses a slow shutter technique
The constantly moving seawater was emptied out like a white margin.
The flow is erased, and what is left is the existence of algae that does not change over time.
The fresh green color that rises above the white open sea
It reveals the order of nature and the strength of life more clearly.
This picture is not just a landscape record.
The natural condition of the tidal difference,
The seaweed that grows in it,
And the time of humans who have lived together while watching this is contained in one frame.
Green lavers, seaweeds, and Seaweed Fulvescens
It is a food that enriches our table,
It is the breath of nature that purifies the sea and circulates the ecosystem.
Through this work
The greenery of the sea that was not visible,
The value of seaweed that I've taken for granted
I hope it will be a time to look at it slowly once again.
